Occupational therapy, also called OT, is a type of therapy intended to help patients regain the ability to engage in work or other typical life activities. Pasadena Nursing Center occupational therapy staff are well-trained in a wide variety of occupational therapy techniques that use environmental changes, technological assistance, or other means to return a patient’s ability to engage in their usual activities.

Occupational therapy can be a useful tool for rehabilitation for:

  • Recovering from surgery
  • Individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Patients with musculoskeletal or neurological disorders

The benefits of occupational therapy can make a big difference in a person’s life. The increased independence that OT can provide can not only increase safety in daily life but can also improve mental health and general well-being.
